An open letter to loved ones regarding my illness; have my album for free this Pride Month; believe in your practice

Hey folks,

A somewhat somber one this time, as I update you on my health. Read online here.

An open letter to loved ones regarding my illness

As you may know, I’ve been living with fibromyalgia and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) for the last four years or so. It’s an awfully lonely, crushing experience. I have become severely disabled by this disease. I am home-bound and often bed-bound. And so I really need your support. You can help me by writing me encouragements (letters, email, or text), supporting me financially (since I have lost most of my work), and taking greater COVID precautions. Read more here.

Have my album for free this Pride Month

For Pride Month, I would like for you to have my latest album for free. It's on Bandcamp for name-your-price now. Just input $0. Perhaps that seems odd, considering I've just asked for your financial help. But I really want to give it away, as a gift. Many of the songs have to do with queer belonging, and I just want to affirm that you belong.

Believe in your practice

I had a bit of an epiphany the other day. I am challenging myself to be in a more regular songwriting habit. But I often find myself easily discouraged to write, thinking, "I probably won't write anything good today." But what if I might? More importantly, what if I just enjoyed writing for the joy of it?

That's all for now. Thank you for reading.

Peace,
Arend
