This comment may be the funniest “found humor” I’ve ever seen.
I’m not sure I have ever felt so much desperation as one Anthony Rotella. User anthonyrotella8791 on YouTube writes, regarding a chiptune remix, “Beautiful…please add another like…it is at 666 likes.” Beneath the comment is the downward-pointing arrow and the text “1 reply,” beckoning you to reveal what has been hidden. You click. It’s anthonyrotella8791 again, begging, “please.”
It seems to me Anthony was so disturbed, he couldn’t help but check back on the video he enjoyed and see if the like counter had moved. For it was Anthony who was the 666th liker of the chiptune remix. Perhaps he believed he may be entering into the devil’s contract by becoming the 666th anything. A good Samaritan might find the video, find him, and break the seal, adding another like.
Maybe the demon bamboozled him, and he only realized he was the 666th liker after it was too late. If that were so, he could have easily just unclicked like and the number would be knocked back down. Maybe he tried just that before realizing that he would be only passing the buck to another poor soul. So he sacrificed himself. Moreover, he may have thought that he’d be withholding his appreciation from the uploader of the video, putting him in a real moral conundrum.
But a much simpler explanation is that the chiptune remix was worth damnation. It was just that good.
